BACDAFUCUP!!! This Post is All About Jeremy Lin...

LINSANITY

TAYLOR: Lin’s road has been one full of rejectionAMICK: Strange circumstances brought Lin to NYVIDEO: How is Lin handling sudden popularity?

I've been pretty disheartened by the New York Knicks before this past week. However, not only has Jeremy Lin lifted my and other Knicker-lovers' spirits but he has rescued the the Knicks season from the brink of disaster. Out of all the possible scenarios that could have happened with me being pulled back into this Knickerbocker season, I never would've thought that a Taiwanese American would be the cause behind me being reinvigorated and energized with the belief that impossible is nothing...especially when you believe in yourself.

Spud Webb Is One Of My Heroes

Growing up, I had a Napolean complex. Loving basketball as much as I did and also buying into social stereotypes, I associated height with strength. I had a early growth spurt as a child that gave me delusions of being the next Kareem and then....I just stopped growing. It was frustrating. Fuck it, it still is. When people tell me that I'm not big enough, I just watch this video. It reminds me that it's not the size of the dog in the fight but the size of the fight in the dog. Spud didn't care that he wasn't over 6 feet tall....because he had the talent, motivation, creativity, heart, and a belief in himself. Watching old school clips of Spud, some of which I remember as a child, inspire me. He reminds me that it doesn't matter what people say or do to me.....if I believe it then I can do it.
